SPOT, CATCH & WIN FLIGHTS WITH TBWA AND BRUSSELS AIRLINES

Everyone’s had the moment: you look up, spot a plane flying overhead, and wonder where it's heading. Brussels Airlines is now turning that little daydream moment into a real chance to travel. With Catch-a-Flight, the Belgian airline is launching an interactive online game (mobile only) that lets Belgians win flights – simply by spotting planes in the sky.

The competition kicks off today, Monday 19 January, and ends on Sunday 25 January. All winners will be announced the following week.

A LITTLE PIECE OF BELGIUM IN THE AIR

When people see a plane flying overhead, they instinctively look up and wonder where it’s going. That moment of curiosity ties in perfectly with the slogan launched by Brussels Airlines in January 2025: ‘Look! A little piece of Belgium in the air.’

But what if spotting a plane didn’t just fuel a dream? What if it gave you a real chance to fly?

CATCH-A-FLIGHT

Catch-a-Flight turns flight spotting into a game that’s open to everyone. In real time, players can track Brussels Airlines planes flying over Belgium, “catch” them, and discover their destinations. Each plane you spot is a potential prize, and every glance skyward could be the start of a real journey.

Catch-a-Flight isn’t part of the existing Brussels Airlines app, but a specially developed mobile website that works exclusively on smartphones.

Step 1: Spot a flight.
A real-time radar shows you all Brussels Airlines flights passing within 30 kilometres of your location.

Step 2: Catch it.
Is there a flight within reach? Catch it by pointing your camera at it.

Step 3: Win it.
Caught a flight? Fill in the competition form for a chance to win 1 of 50 flights. The more flights you catch, the greater your chance of winning.

ORIGINAL DESTINATION COMMUNICATION

‘With Catch-a-Flight, we want to go beyond our traditional destination campaigns and let Belgians discover for themselves where we fly to,’ says Michel Moriaux, Head of Marketing at Brussels Airlines. ‘It's an active brand experience that starts from a recognisable moment: looking up and dreaming away.’

With this campaign, Brussels Airlines is literally bringing its new platform promise ‘Look! A little piece of Belgium in the air!’ to life. The sky above becomes a playground, and each aircraft a flying piece of Belgium that fuels dreams – and makes them come true.
